CCYHA is following recommendations from the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Department of Health, and the CDC. 



Players and coaches may choose to remove their masks while they are on the ice.

Coaches should wear masks while on the bench.


It is highly recommended that:

  • Coaches, managers, and players who are eligible for vaccinations be vaccinated
  • All persons wear masks in rinks, regardless of their vaccination status; coaches and players on the ice may remove masks at their discretion
  • Those who are unvaccinated maintain three-to-six feet of social distancing at rinks 

Additional Recommendations:

• Coaches, managers, and parents should read and familiarize themselves with the documents in the links below

• CCYHA will work with our local health department when a positive test is confirmed to ensure the proper individuals are notified and to facilitate appropriate contact tracing

• Players who test positive for COVID-19 must gain medical clearance before they are permitted to return to practices or contests, with an approval form sent to

• Continue to practice proper sanitation of shared equipment and personal belongings and of all facilities and venues

• Continue to practice good hand hygiene 

If you are feeling unwell, DO NOT COME TO THE RINK. This applies to players, coaches, managers, other team officials, and parents. If your symptoms indicate you may have the virus please arrange to have a COVID-19 test.*

If you test positive for COVID-19DO NOT COME TO THE RINK. Isolate yourself according to CDC guidelines. Email   to communicate your positive test. You may return to the rink when the following conditions are met:

  • At least 10 days since symptoms first appeared and
  • At least 24 hours with no fever without fever-reducing medication and
  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving. (Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation​.) and

Players who have tested positive must have a documented medical exam clearing them to return to play. The documented medical exam must specifically include an assessment of the cardiac/heart risk of high-intensity exercise due to the potential of myocarditis occurring in COVID-19 patients. If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19:

  • If you have been vaccinated, continue to mask and participate; if you develop symptoms you must get tested.*
  • If you have not been vaccinated, DO NOT COME TO THE RINK. Quarantine yourself according to CDC guidelines. You may return to the rink when the following conditions are met: 
    • 10 days since last exposure to someone with a positive COVID-19 test and
    • No symptoms of COVID-19 at any time during the 10-day quarantine period
    • Quarantine may be shortened to 7 days if you receive a negative COVID-19 test 5 days after your last exposure
